National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a national funding scheme to provide individualised support for people with a disability. The scheme focuses on providing people who are eligible with a flexible, whole-of-life approach to support their needs so they can follow their goals and aspirations and better participate in daily life.  The NDIS aims to provide individual choice and control regarding support services.

Accessing the NDIS

In order to join the NDIS, you need to meet certain access or eligibility requirements. In order to determine if you are eligible for the NDIS, you will need to submit an NDIS Access Request Form. SBH Disability Services staff can assist you to complete this form and provide supporting evidence for your NDIS application.

Making the most of your NDIS plan

SBH Disability Services offers help with support and advice so that you are ready for your first NDIS planning meeting.  We can also assist you to prepare for NDIS reviews to highlight your ongoing support needs through end of plan progress reports and recommendations.
